Split revenue with multiple collaborators on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis

All of this done through one simple hub!

Effortless payment of mechanical royalties

If you’re releasing cover songs, royalties will be owed to the publisher of the composition. Tracking activity and paying those royalties on your own would be a huge hassle. When you use Soundrop, we collect your revenue from digital music services every month and automatically pay the cover song royalties you owe out of your earnings.

We’ll do this for life, so you never have to worry about losing your license to distribute those cover songs.

Automatic revenue splits with your collaborators

Soundrop gives you a simple (and free) way to ensure every collaborator is paid the cut of royalties they’re owed when your songs are streamed or downloaded. With a royalty split, their share of the money goes straight to them — so you don’t need to worry about accounting, 1099s, or anything else.

Plus, there’s no charge to set up revenue splits for an unlimited number of collaborators on every single song you distribute. As Ron Popeil said, you just “Set it and forget it.”

Setting up a collaborator revenue split with Soundrop will simplify your life and make your collaborator(s) as happy as a clam at high tide. Easy smiles all around.

How much does it cost to split music revenue with collaborators?
Well, you’re sharing revenue with them… so there’s THAT!

But we have NO fee for rev splits; you can share royalties with one or one hundred people, and it won’t cost you a cent to get all those percentage splits set up correctly for every single song you release.

At Soundrop, we’re experts at distribution, cover song licensing, AND rights management. Our accounting features work the way you need them to, and our system for revenue splits is perfect for today’s musician who releases a lot of music, collaborates with many different artists, and is serious about proper payments going to ALL rights holders.

Paying multiple collaborators is simple; here’s how

Every time you distribute a song through Soundrop, you have the ability to designate multiple payees for the revenue that song generates, along with the corresponding percentages each collaborator is owed. The first step to split royalties with songwriters, publishers, producers, or other collaborators is… account creation.

If your collaborators don’t yet have accounts with Soundrop, we’ll get them set up and email them invites. But first, in order to set up a revenue split, we’ll need you (assuming you are the account holder for the release) to send us the following information:

  1. Your email address
  2. The title of the album or single
  3. The UPC (you may find the UPC under the “Assets” section of your account)
  4. The track title(s) (if the split is related to specific tracks instead of the entire album)
  5. The name(s) of your collaborator(s)
  6. Their email address(es)
  7. The percentage of revenue they are owed for the track(s) or album

To send this information to us:

  1. Head over to the Soundrop FAQ site
  2. Click “Submit a Request” in the top right corner
  3. Select “Revenue Splits” in the drop-down menu

You may then enter the information in each of their respective fields. If you have particularly complicated revenue splits for a larger album and would rather send us a spreadsheet you’ll find a button at the bottom to include an attachment.

Rev Splits with Soundrop: simplify your life

For real, accounting to a bunch of different collaborators who are each owed a different percentage of the royalties earned for different recordings… that can get to be a serious headache if you’re managing it all on your own.

So don’t! Let Soundrop do the revenue splits, detailed accounting, and payments for you — because you should be concentrating on the music first and last.
